We are delighted to welcome Orlaith Cormican and Dr Rena Lyons to our Education Working Group, which is led by Dr Patrick Murphy at Trinity College Dublin. Orlaith and Rena join our five recent recruits, bringing the total number of QUESTS working group members to 23, along with our Co-Chairs Dr Catherine Houghton and Dr Andrew Hunter.

Orlaith Cormican is a Clinical Research Nurse and Health Research Board (HRB) SPHeRE Programme PhD Scholar based in the HRB Clinical Research Facility at NUI Galway. She is currently developing a symptom self-management healthcare app for individuals with relapsed multiple myeloma. Read more about her work in the latest edition of The Medical Independent.

 

Dr Rena Lyons is a Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy in the School of Health Sciences at NUI Galway. Her research interests are in the areas of: qualitative research; listening to the perspectives of service users; evidence-based practice; identity construction; children’s perspectives; and socio-cultural aspects of communication disorders.
