Dr Louise Murphy

    Dr Louise Murphy BSc (Hons), PhD, PG Dip in Nursing Education, RPN, RNT is a lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Limerick. She is also a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and Registered Nurse Tutor with twelve years clinical experience in a variety of mental health settings, including community and acute services. Louise teaches across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes and supervises students at undergraduate and Masters level. She has specific expertise in mixed methods research and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. She has collaborated on a range of research projects, ranging from research into breast cancer through to dementia care and innovative teaching strategies utilising a wide range of methodological approaches. Her main research interests are in the areas of psychosocial interventions, psycho-oncology, nursing education, recovery, and mental health. She is currently Education and Communication Working Group lead for QUESTS.
