QUESTS Research Advisors, Dr Catherine Houghton, Dr Pauline Meskell and Dr Linda Biesty attended the 25th Cochrane Colloquium in Edinburgh from 16th-18th September. Pertinent to their work on qualitative evidence synthesis (QES) were a number of workshops on using GRADE CERQual in QES, integrating QES findings with a systematic review and the use of Qualitative Comparative Analysis in QES. They enjoyed workshops with Dr Andrew Booth, Dr Heather Ames and many other Cochrane QES experts.
There was an opportunity to meet and talk all things QES with Prof Jane Noyes (Chair, Cochrane Qualitative & Implementation Methods Group); Prof James Thomas, Dr Katy Sutcliffe and the amazing people of EPPI Centre; and many more! These discussions included potential future workshop and webinar opportunities so watch this space for upcoming QES events. In the meantime, watch back our webinar with Katy where she provides an introduction to QES and its utility for understanding, designing and evaluating trials.
One of Catherine’s highlights of the Colloquium was attending the Gala Dinner at the National Museum where she got to meet Prof Iain Chalmers.
