The PRINCE study was an RCT that explored the effectiveness of a structured education pulmonary rehabilitation programme for improving the health status of people with moderate and severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in primary care. It had an embedded qualitative design that examined participants experiences of the intervention. Qualitative research was also used to describe usual care in control practices.
