Congratulations to Dr Maura Dowling and colleagues in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at NUI Galway on their new paper “Providing care for a person with late-stage dementia at home: What are carers’ experiences?”, which was published recently in Dementia. The paper presents the findings of Laura Dempsey’s PhD study, supervised by Maura.
Laura conducted semi-structured interviews with current and past carers of a family member with late-stage dementia to explore their experiences in providing end-of-life care. Data were analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis.
